80 years, Millions of Milestones

Tomorrow, the United States of America will swear in its first African-American president. 80 years ago a baby was born would help to lead a group to the promise land.

It is amazing to think that in just four generations we can move from Jim Crow Laws to making the phrase “Obama Administration” something I need to have as a tag in my blog.

As we all know, the dream is not complete – much work needs to be done to provide greater equality for not only African-Americans, but for all people within our Union. Tomorrow will indeed be a great day for equality, but it should not mean that we sit on our laurels and accept that all is well.

Now, for your consideration, Dr. King’s full speech on the Mall that muggy summer day.
