I love Utah…

Posted by Curtis Haring

This Map was spotted in West High School (my alma mater), in Salt Lake City on Saturday, April 24 2010. You may note that there are a few countries missing and they have somehow been replaced with the USSR. Fun fact: As of the day of this blog post, the USSR has not existed for 18 years, 4 months, and 1 day (but it could make a comeback).

But we fund our schools properly.

  1. Interesting Fact:

In Canada we used the end of the USSR the “Dissolution of the USSR”
When I came to the US I noticed it was referred to as the “Collapse of the USSR”

Poliitical Language has always been interesting to m, and in this case it seems more antagonistic to call it the “Collapse”, like a house falling into itself, rather than the “dissolution” which to me seems to relay a meaning of an acknowledged decision that the system was no longer effective.

Though what do I know..I am just a homeless guy ;)

  2. Jason says:

How about some credit for pointing it out to you in the first place?
