Meet the Candidates: Brad Daw, Republican for House District 60

Brad Daw is running as the Republican candidate in House District 60. His opponent is  Alan Keele (D), and Brad is the incumbent.

Here are Brad’s answers to my absurd questions:

1)      How long have you lived in your district and what made you move there in the first place?18 years, got hired at WordPerfect as a software engineer.

2)      What does your family look like (married; kids; pets)? Married with 5 kids ages 18 to 8, two girls three boys, one dog, one cat, one bird, a few fish.

3)      What do you drive? What is your dream vehicle?Jetta TDI. Jetta TDI

4)      What was the last book you finished? The Innovator’s Prescription.

5)      What is your favorite store and/or restaurant in your district? Store: Best Buy, Restaurant: Chef’s Table.

6)      Turn your head to the right, what do you see? My Wife.

7)      In 25 words or less, explain why you are a Republican. I believe in the Declaration of Independence. I believe that our rights are God given and I that government is to protect those rights and I believe the Republican party best sets forth the principles that accomplish this.

8)      Who would win if a bear and a shark fought each other (feel free to explain)? On land the bear would win, at sea the shark would.

9)      In 50 words or less, explain why you want to be a public servant. I love my country and fully realize that freedom is anything but free. I understand that each and every generation must step up and earn the freedom that has been passed to them from the preceding generation. I feel that I need to do my part to preserve that freedom for those in the upcoming generation and instill in them a love of freedom and a desire to serve in their own right.

10)  What was the last cultural event you went to?110 in the Shade at the Hale Center in Orem.

11)  What are the three things you plan to fight for when elected? A balanced budget with no new tax hikes, ways to roll back the damage done to this country by the current administration, ways to move ahead in a fiscally responsible way the transportation projects in Utah County.

12)  Do you know what OMGWTFBBQ stands for? Google brought up a phrase with an R rated word in it.

13)  What is the most important amendment in the Bill of Rights? The Tenth.

14)  What is your favorite band? Toto

15)  If you could change one thing about your district, what would it be? Add some beach front.
